HSS Hopeful that Judgment Will Advance Hindu Temple Construction
“Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh USA Inc. (HSS) welcomes the Allahabad High Court judgment as it clears away legal obstacles to the construction of a proper temple at the birthplace of Lord Rama. Hindus in the US earnestly hope that this is the beginning of a new era for Hindu-Muslim relations in India,” said Ved Nanda, President of the HSS.
The judgment recognizes the timeless Hindu beliefs that Bhagvāna Rām was born in Ayodhyā and that a Hindu temple marked his birthplace at Śrī Rāma Janmabhūmī.
Hindus in the United States and elsewhere have long desired that Śrī Rāma Janmabhūmī should have a proper mandir commensurate to the importance of Bhagvāna Rāma. For over twenty years, Hindu-Americans have waited while construction was halted in a mire of litigation and politics.
