This year, all the Chicago chapters of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh participated in India Day Parade planned on 61st Independence Day of India. This included Downtown, Naperville , Schaumburg, Lake County , and Ramayan Shakha. The HSS float was decorated with Bhagwa Dhwaj, Bharat Flag and American Flag. Pictures of Bharat Mata, Swami Vivkananda, Chhatrapati Shivaji, Maharana Pratap, Jhansi-ki-Raani Laxmibai, Chandra Shekhar Azad, Emblem of Satyameva Jayate, and postures of Surya Namaskaar, Hindu Exhibition, Bharat map also adorned the float.
There were total of 45 floats and each represented by different organizations in the parade. Illinois Governor Rod R. Blagojevich also met HSS Team. HSS presence was unique and outstanding with young, enthused, and energetic team. Click here for Complete Photo Gallery.
